CSS and PHP database calls, anyone, anyone?

Sent by Jody Whitesides on 25 November 2003 18:06

Hey, I'm very new to CSS and I'm about finished with a new version of
my website. I've got a couple of issues that I'm wondering if anyone
here might know the answers to.

1. Is there a way to do random background pictures, using php and CSS
that would fit into XHTML standards?

2. I have set up a DIV to hold a PHP database query. However I can not
for the life of me get the results to format in a manner that I would
like. You can view it's current state at:
http://www.jodywhitesides.com.

2a. I would like to be able to get the width of the date box to equal
the width of the News section. When I was able to figure out how to do
that, the text of the information below the date would sit justified
left. Even if I set the margin, or the padding. In fact I decided to
build a table for the PHP results and the DIV even ignores those. I'm
ready to pull my hair out.

Any suggestions on how I could get the DIV for the calendar to accept
settings and properly format the results of my database output?

Thanks, I appreciate it.

Jody
