background images

Sent by Eliana Berlfein on 6 November 2003 02:02

I am very new to CSS. I have designed a page in photoshop, and I'm
trying to figure out how to translate it to CSS. Here is a link to
what I want it to look like when it's done.

So far I have made a table with part of this image as the background.
It looks like this:
http://sidewalkcafedesign.com/clients/moon/

There's not much in the style sheet at this point, but if you want to
see it, it's at: http://sidewalkcafedesign.com/clients/moon/moon.css

Now I want to extend the left panel indefinitely. I tried making a
table inside this table with 2 columns, and filled the left column
with the purple and shadow. But it didn't even show up.

When I make the buttons and the content in the main part of the page,
should I just use a 2 or 3 column table? I know how to make the
buttons in css, and I'm pretty sure I can figure out how to make the
visited graphic look different than the non-visited one.

Thanks very much,
Eliana
