Wow.  This is all a lot of stuff to think about.  Isn't there some way to
just make the Recent Articles box transparent, despite there being an image
there?  Or, on second though, since the font I'm using is just a big version
of Georgia and (afaik) everyone has Georgia on their systems, just use plain
text positioned very carefully, which will naturally allow the background to
show through?
