Looking at single and commercial CSS sites, my personal favorite is Adaptive Path [1], designed by Douglas Bowman [2]. Douglas's personal site is just as inspiring, and his Zen Garden contribution [3] remains the best, although the competition is getting tougher all the time. More recent great looking designs include Fat Beehive [4], discovered via Zeldman.
