CSS list buttons mischief

Sent by Dan Whitelock on 11 September 2003 12:12

I've just completed a site that is currently in test mode and we're baffled
by the behaviour of the navigation.

I've used a CSS list navbar (Simple bits tabbed navbar) from the Listamatic
site (http://www.maxdesign.com.au/presentation/listamatic/horizontal06.htm).

On IE 5 on the Mac, the navbar goes nuts! When the link is visited, it drops
down below the other links.

The 'support' button when visited drops, and pushes the other buttons to the
right down even further. On some occasions, when 'privacy policy', or 'about
us' is in a visited state, the bottom 1px border drops right down and
overlaps the content below.

On Windows IE5, the navbar seems pretty stable, but again the buttons drop
when in a visited state.

On Netscape 7 Mac, the navbar behaves the same way as Windows IE5.

The url is below. Please note the links 'data sales', 'contact us' and
'entry forms' are not active yet.

Any help will be greatfully received as the site needs to go live asap.

TIA

Dan Whitelock
