Hi,
I posted a sample-less rambling post with no subject a couple days ago
- sorry 'bout that. Here's a better description of my problem, with
samples.
Firstly, here's a jpg of what I'm trying to achieve:

I want the header at the top to fill the width of the page, with the
first and last blocks expanding to fill available space, while the
center blog (containing "monkinetic weblog") stays 385px wide.
Here's my current DIV-based attempt:

Currently I'm using em-based widths on the left and right DIVs, with a
background color on the right one to fill whatever extra space is left
over, but this is very sub-optimal. The other problem is that with the
DIVs float:left'd, if the borwser window gets too small it wraps the
right-most DIV. UGLY.
So... my question is if anyone knows how to accomplish what I'm trying
to do, or if it can be done at all.
TIA,
