blogcheck please: larsholst.info/blog/

Sent by Lars Holst on 5 September 2003 23:11

Hello list,

I'm about to go live with one of them blogs. Could I trouble you for a
quick sitecheck?

Site is at: <http://larsholst.info/blog/>

CSS is at: <http://larsholst.info/css/blogdefacto.css>

Tested on the usual suspects: IE 6 + Moz 1.4 + MFB 0.6.1 + 0pera 7.x on
W2k 12.1" 1024x768.
Reports from other browser/platform/operating
system/screen/resolution-combos would be much appreciated.
I'm primarily interest in css issues, but if you have any
accessibility, usability, readability, or overall design feedback,
please let me know.

Known issues:

Moz (et tu Moz): In the right border of the sidebar's vertical
navigation list items, Mozilla displays a rounding error (as detailed
by Big John on http://positioniseverything.net/). You may have to
resize to see the effect. I've spent countless hours trying to
understand why it does that because I wanted to include it in a
testcase I'm working on, but to no avail. The rounding error should
only appear when relative measures are used, i.e. ems, %s, etc., and to
the best of my knowledge there are no relative measures used in that
sidebar. Priority: LOW.

Tech note:
Markup is valid XHTML 1.0 Strict, except for an extra paragraph
inserted inside every blockquote (a blog engine technicality. working
on it).
Style sheet is CSS2 compliant, except for the *7 and Tan hacks used.
