[css-d] IE5.2 border display issue?

Sent by Ethan Marcotte on 10 February 2003 15:03

I'm having a little quirkiness with Mac IE5.2--if someone has some
insight, I'd very much appreciate it:

     URL: http://www.vertua.com/
     CSS: http://www.vertua.com/_share/css/secunda.css

Basically, the top nav is an unordered list. My problem is with that
appear when the user hovers over the primary nav links. In Mac IE5.x,
the left- and right-hand black borders that appear onmouseover are:

1.) correct on the "home" link,
2.) uneven on the "about vertua" link, and
3.) even (but too short) on all other primary nav links.

The unevenness/incorrect height is fixed when the link becomes active
(i.e., when the user clicks on the link), but is incorrect otherwise.

I have a sneaking suspicion that this error has something to do with
my #blah rule (which positions the Polaroid-ish graphic on the
right-hand side of the viewport), but I'd really appreciate some
expert assistance. And of course, if anyone has any recommendations
on how I could improve any aspect of my CSS, I'd be most grateful for
any/all comments or criticisms on my code (off-list, of course).

Thanks so very much for your time. Best,

- Ethan Marcotte
