Hi.
Please take a look at (especially if you have access to Macs and/or
Konqueror/Safari):-
http://www.btinternet.com/~jrenshaw/humanityatheart/index.html
(plus rest of site)
CSS at:-
http://www.btinternet.com/~jrenshaw/humanityatheart/base.css
http://www.btinternet.com/~jrenshaw/humanityatheart/grownup.css
http://www.btinternet.com/~jrenshaw/humanityatheart/print.css
plus some inline (for per page stuff).
XHTML and CSS validate correctly, minor warnings over CSS validation.
Known problems (all PC Windows):-
Opera 7. Top border disappears when text-size is reduced. (Actually it goes
and then appears at every 10% increment).
I reckon that this is likely to be Opera 7 UI bugginess rather than a CSS
rendering issue.
Opera 6. Excessive space between "return to top" link and "This page was
last modified..." at bottom of each page. This being despite those elements
being within the same <p></p> (and other browsers not having this problem).
Also this occurs the taglines which wrap under some of the pictures on the
site (despite my explicitly stating line-spacing normal for .tagline).
Mozilla & Opera6. Excessive padding underneath some .inlineimage classes,
especially on:-
http://www.btinternet.com/~jrenshaw/humanityatheart/projects/caleb.html
http://www.btinternet.com/~jrenshaw/humanityatheart/projects/oaza.html
IE 5.x/PC. Haven't looked recently, but I expect that the font-sizes are
larger than on other browsesr / platforms (not that bothered about this).
NN4. Some font-sizes don't scale up - strange cause I thought NN4 was OK
with explicit pixel sizes. Probably something to do with being inside divs.
Notes:-
NN4 rendition is purposefully different, couldn't get the grey sidebar to
work so compromised by having an approximate copy of the IE/Moz/Opera
version.
Careful not to view with Proximitron or anything that will put gunk ahead of
the doctype declaration as it will mess up the positioning of the menu in
IE6 quirks mode (this issue is fixed for Windows IE 5.5 in the grownup.css)
Any other comments welcome.
Thanks
William Tillotson
