the more i learn about the W3C, the less faith I have in the future of the
web. is anybody on this list actually on the standards body? are there any
web-developers at all on the w3c? judging by the look of their website, i'd
say not.

i'm definitely in favor of a standards body, but it really seems that the
w3c is completely disconnected from what matters to me as web developers:

1) pixels are pixels
2) floated divs cannot be contained by any element
3) the box model makes computing width's completely non-intuitive
4) it is impossible to set the height on a DIV to fill the greater of:
window height vs. content height, something which has been done with tables
since i started coding.
