OK, Eric saying we should keep this off list since it was drifting OT
apparently didn't impress very many.
Thus I'm going to reply to several people in one post (directly and
idirectly) to at least keep down the spam

Eh... so is Mozilla... it's constantly in beta as most other open source
projects.
K-Mel is a very stable and compleate product and has been for quite a
while (it's 2-3 years old project and quite mature whatever the version
number might lead you to belive). You should at least check it out
before you dismiss it...
Chimera I can't answer for since I don't use it, but it would surprize
me if it was more eg more crashprone then NS 4. That it's much better at
rendering webpages is a fact I will take for granted.

Opera doesn't just exsist for OS X. And whatever you might think of
Opera noone can say that it's worse with standards or more CPU demanding
then NS 4.
Though I also think is't sad that Apple doesn't give a damn about
backwards compability for their paying customers, but that is even of
topic in this of topic thread.

When did I say they should upgrade their mailclient?
Not that there isn't plenty of good alternatives there too if you feel
like informing your visitors of that too.
