[css-d] validation error and stumped

Sent by William Hermany on 5 January 2003 23:11

Hi
I was wondering if someone could help me figure this out.

If i try to validate my homepage
http://chromoscope.com/3/index.cfm?fuseaction=home

via the CSS validator (this url)
http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator?uri=http%3A%2F%
2Fchromoscope.com%2F3%2Findex.cfm%3Ffuseaction%3Dhome

it brings up the following error:

Please, validate your XML document first!
Line 1
Column 8
The XML declaration may only appear at the very beginning of the
document.

i've checked my code and haven't found any discrepancies, and if
you validate code with the html validator it validates as xhtml
strict, with no problems. so i'm confused as why this would do
this. has anyone experienced this before? are there any
information sources? any help would be appreciated. eventually i'd
like to add the css validate button to the bottom of my page.

also i've removed the xml tag at the top and the page validates as
correct css

thanx
:]
william.
