Hello group and especially Eric: I've been lurking on this list trying to
learn. The most important thing I've learned so far is that I needed Eric's
book. Well, I got the book for Christmas (thank you Santa!) and decided to
start today. I can't get past the first instructions and not because I
can't read. Using NS7.0 and/or IE5.5, the solid red border does not display
on the tables. Everything is displaying with the dotted purple border. The
browsers seem to be ignoring the first rule. I have a current website that
I maintain and I have recently revamped it using a combination of HTML and
CSS so it's not that I've never tried this before - what's wrong? I've
checked for typos, I tried eliminating the dotted purple rule and when
viewed in the browser(s), the page displays as though no rules are being
applied. If I can't get past page 3, I'm in serious trouble. Hope someone
can restore my flagging self confidence. Thanks. Dianne.
