Re: [css-d] vertical & horizontal centering

Sent by Luc on 24 December 2002 18:06

Good evening Big,

It was foretold that on 24-12-2002 @ 19:18:42 GMT-0800 (PST) (which
was 4:18:42 where I live) Big John would mumble:

<snipped a bit>
BJ> You must take control of the margins and padding on the 'body'
BJ> element. Make this a habit and you will avoid much trouble.
So, i just add another selector for the body with the appropriate
values? Is this a "standard operating procedure" setting margins and
padding on the body to avoid much browser problems?

BJ> Op7 is much better than Op6,
Yep, it implements Css much better now.

BJ> Try this. To position the popup horizontally, use 'left: 50%'.
BJ> Then also use 'margin-left: -70px'.
I sure will. I hope i have some more time now with the holidays ;-)

Anyway, you're a big help and i thank you for your patience. (I'm
still looking for Eric Meyers' bible on Css in my language but haven't
found it yet. So, until then i might be bothering you some more LOL)

Happy holidays!!!!

Best regards,
 Luc
