Others have mentioned good workarounds, but I might as well pipe in as an
ideologist... theoretically, I think, we SHOULD be able to use auto margins
(i.e. margin-top:auto; margin-bottom:auto) to center a block vertically.
Support for this is so nonexistent that it probably doesn't warrant
mentioning, though.
