[css-d] AlltheWeb.com switches to XHTML and CSS standards

Sent by Erik Bator on 31 October 2002 15:03

Hello all!

Just a quick note of interest.

AlltheWeb.com (www.alltheweb.com) has become the first major search site to fully adopt XHTML and
CSS.

As part of this release, AlltheWeb has revealed several new "skins" for AlltheWeb, enabling millions
of users to personalize the
look and feel of the site, while still obtaining the same quality, advanced search features of
AlltheWeb. To showcase these skins,
AlltheWeb has posted a special skin for the site commemorating Halloween.

The Halloween skin looks sharp, and is in keeping with Jakob Nielsen's latest alertbox message -
http://www.useit.com/alertbox/20021028.html. They've also made a library of skins for users to
customize the site's look and feel -

cheers
-erik
