Why does your switcher require that you use <link>? You can add any
amount of logic to the PHP that writes out your linking mechanism,
right? You're not giving yourself enough credit if you think you can't
modify a simple stylesheet switcher to suit your needs :)
If you're using the one from the recent ALA article, I suggest looking

And as an homage to Darwin, I also published my own. Mine's a bit more
