Yes, with XHTML 1.0 Transitional, the validator does not accept <div>...</div> tags within <p>...</p> tags. I had chosen <p> because I intended the images to be preceded by and succeeded by text. I would have described that as a paragraph with embedded images. If anyone wonders - XHTML was selected by the helper who gave me the original sample code. > E.
