I see how someone *could* want that effect. I was being a little rhetorical.
If 99% of the time you don't want that, or can code it otherwise,
containment is far better.

Yes, good point. That would seem to be best. And then you can contain or
not. Hope someone responds to your w3c post, it's right on the mark.
