sure, but every item in a breadcrumb is in a lower 'level' than the 
previous item...

a bullet list shows thingies on one level, until you start nesting... so 
unless you had a new, nested bullet list for every item in the 
breadcrumb, i wouldn't use it...

does that make sense?

Except that the breadcrumbs are hierchical and a list gives
equal weight to each item. It doesn't really show a descending
level structure the way the breadcrumbs show the site levels.
