New CMS Forum

Sent by Bob Doyle on 5 January 2004 03:03

I would like to announce a new forum site meant to provide a structured
home for valuable information gleaned from many of the threads on this
cms-list.

See http://www.cms-forum.org.

Your comments and criticisms are most welcome.

Besides key topics from the cms-list (http://cms-forum.org/?q=forum/7),
it will offer vendor forums (to concentrate advice and criticism on
specific products), news feed aggregation, and blog feeds aggregation.

Initially we will provide forum topics for the major CMS vendors
(http://cms-forum.org/?q=forum/6).

We started with the two dozen analyzed in Tony Byrne's CMS Report
(http://www.cmswatch.com/TheCMSReport/). Later we will include forums
for all the products in the CMSML database (currently about 75,
http://www.cmsml.org). Then we will start threads for all the CMS listed
at CMS Review (about 300). Our ultimate goal will be to include the
several hundred more in the DMOZ/Google categories on content management
(http://dmoz.org/Computers/Software/Internet/Site_Management/Content_Management/).

The whole site will be full-text searchable, providing a strong research
tool for newcomers to CMS and veterans as well.

We invite industry commentators to start their own blog/columns on CMS
Forum. If you already blog regularly on CMS, send us your RSS feed so we
can add you to the CMS Blogs aggregator
(http://cms-forum.org/?q=import/bundle/2).

The CMS News aggregator (http://cms-forum.org/?q=import/bundle/1)
includes feeds from CMS Info, CMS Watch, Gilbane Report, OSCOM, and Step
Two. There are many other fine CMS websites
(http://www.cmsreview.com/Resources/Links.html), but they do not
currently offer RSS feeds that we could find. Apologies to (and please
tell us about) any we missed.

This is a work in progress. Your feedback will help it to grow.
