I'm looking for...

Sent by Dan Segolson on 12 December 2003 10:10

Hi there Darek.
I've got a beta (stage 2) of a php/mysql-based solution that is intended to
place a simple cms-backend on an existing html-site. DmSCmS.

It includes the possibillity to create pages, generate menus from the
existing pages, upload images to the server and insert those in text, a
semi-wysiwyg editor for the content, each page holds a title (for the
nav/menu), an intro and content.

All publishing of the pages are timecontrolled and a page can be retracted
or republished at any point.

It also supports a news section (posted the last XX days) that a visitor can
customize if they register. You have a rolebased user admin so you can
restrict pages to different permissionlevels. It also comes with a pretty
good user/admin documentation.

The templates simply consists of php-pages with clean HTML, an include and
functioncalls to insert menu, content and news.

Feel free to try it out, you can find it at my site
http://www.dmsproject.com/ the site holds quite a lot of info on my thoughts
when I designed it.

Go to "Archives" choose releases and press find and you will find the beta2
and installation instructions.
And yes, it's GPL/Open Source.

Do remember that this is a beta and that this version requires
"register_globals = On" in php. This and much more will be changed in the
next version which also will be OOP straight through.
Have fun/Dan

Hello Folks
<Phrase in subject is probably the most frequently repated on this list:)>
.... something of following functionality
(may I call it CMS?):
- it should be php or perl solution, (L)GPL-ed or at least open source
- it should provide form to create single html page for each issued entry
- it should allow to add/edit title/description of the entry on that page,
customize the page view (color, layout), (perhaps) embed an image (jpg, png,
gif) on the page, assign category to the page (so it could be grouped by)

So it's to be bascially something to manage catalogue of single pages -
ideally these pages should be accessed via "entry"."domain" adress from
browser - nothing sophisticated except creation/edition of pages is to be
possible for people without html/css knowledge.
It may be even alpha/beta stage project running/abadoned ...

Regards
Darek
