Well the biggest issue with Java-based HTML editors is that despite being
portable, they don't work well on MacOS X platforms. So far the only
browser that supports LiveConnect on MacOS X is Mozilla, and it only
supports JDK 1.3.1 (Apple now installs JDK 1.4.1 by default).
The worst case on this platform is that the default browser is now Safari,
and this browser does not implement LiveConnect, and doesn't even offer a
dynamic editor like Mozilla and IE offer (contentEditable or Javascript
API). So without even going to the problematic of Word import you've got a
portability problem on Mac platforms !

Serge Huber.
